Another awesome feature of the Acronis backup you create is that you can convert them to the virtual hard disk "vhd" format that Microsoft uses and "Voila" you have the ability to IMMEDIATELY recover from a system crash.

Mount your virtual hard disk image and run your business.

This means you need to create your backup and practice using your virtual hard disks. Then keep your backup practice going, and you will have just created an automatic business safety and survival practice. One day you will be thanking the Lord you decided to do it! (Hopefully not to soon...)

Have a happy

go to the website and do an update. I have VISTA and they contacted me and told me to update. I was successful...finally... in doing my backup. This should work for you. It seems like a good program...Good luck!

i am professionaly using acronis from last 3 years and never had any problem with the backups. WE use GFS backup strategy as our disaster recovery plan.

its a good idea to have multiple backups in case one gets corrupt.

The easiest and best way to fix an infected Windows installation is from outside Windows--otherwise, it's like trying to do a valve job on an engine while it's running. Much of the current malware hides itself from Windows as it cripples any attempt to remove it--but it can't hide if Windows ISN'T running. That's where booting from a "live" CD is useful.

If you can't get to the following site from your infected PC, go to a friend's house or to a second PC. In any case, read the basic tutorial, download the CD-image ISO file via the provided link, and burn a CD from the image. Boot from the CD, follow the instructions (after switching the display language to English), and let it scan.

This should fix the problem(s). Once you are clean, go to my "Malware Tools" pages for free software links to keep out the nasties:

If its a anti virus protector the only way you can, or the only way I could get rid of it was downloading a free malware program, even though I had one on my computer already..

Hope this helps.

If you have to reformat you only have to do the hard drive with your OS on it. Viruses don't attack data. I have two HDs and four partitions on my desktop: one for XP, one for Vista, one saved for Win7, and one for data. If/when I get malware that causes too much damage to repair I just reformat the infected partition and everything else is safe. But I still backup to another PC and DVDs frequently in case the second hd crashes.
